The Department of Textile and Fashion Design, founded in 2001, is one of the first departments in our university.  Considering the increasing importance of design issues in our country, the aim of department is to educate young talent as potential employees for the industry, and to graduate them with the knowhow to create international fashion brands.  Companies are eager to work with young designers who are experienced in producing contemporary designs and who are also capable of expressing their projects and ideas with creative design solutions. As a department we believe that our graduates can propose designs for related markets with accurate brand strategies, can develop marketing and management strategies and have the capacity to create international fashion brands. At the same time, we are honored to follow the success stories of our graduates. In the 2022-23 Academic Year, fifteen of our students will graduate, four of whom are international students. Our students have been inspired by the latest fashion trends and famous designers. Their unique perspectives and cultural backgrounds have influenced their creative processes. Some have blended contemporary design elements with local craftsmanship and cultural heritage, resulting in designs that pay homage to their roots while embracing modern aesthetics.  Embracing the spirit of sustainability, eco-conscious concepts were integrated into students’ collections. Associate Professor Dr. Arzu Vuruşkan and Instructor Jörn Fröhlich have coordinated the design, production, and presentation processes of the student collections as part of their fourth-year graduation project. On behalf of all the academic and technical staff of the Textile and Fashion Design Department, we would like to congratulate our students on their graduation and wish them success in their upcoming professional life.
